Common questions.

Do I need an API key for each service?

No. You link an account once by signing in to the service on Northlight’s link page, and your agent then works in it as you. Search and Browser need nothing extra.

How is pricing structured?

Each app lists its prices on its page in your account. Search charges per call (up to $0.01 for a sourced answer, up to $0.10 for a web search, up to $2.00 for a deep research query) and Browser per hour ($0.07 per browser hour). Search and Browser each include $20 free each month. Integrations, Texting and Phone show no price.

Who can my agent text or call?

Texting only reaches your own verified phone. Phone can call you, or call someone else for you on a US or Canada number; the voice says it is Northlight’s AI assistant calling for you, the call is recorded, and you get a summary when it ends.

Does my Mac have to be on?

Only for Device, which uses your Mac’s files, shell, Messages and signed-in browser while Northlight Desktop is open. When your Mac is off, the cloud Browser can still open sites with the logins you imported from Northlight Desktop.

How do I talk to my agent?

Text Northlight from your phone, chat at chat.northlight.ai, or install the CLI (npm i -g @north-light/cli) and join your machine with crtr sys join. All three use the same account and the same linked services.
